“Boycott Bollywood films” has been trending on social media since last year but this voice has been growing louder over the past months.

Recently, a few Bollywood movies such as Laal Singh Chaddha, Darlings, and Raksha Bandhan fell prey to this campaign.

Actor Shefali Shah feels this campaign is just a momentary trend and not something that will last.

Many people claim that the Boycott trend on social media is responsible for the below-average performance of Hindi movies. And others say that this campaign affected the box office and many films failed due to such a trend.

Recently, In an interview, Delhi Crime actor Shefali Shah said, “It’s a trend. I don’t think it’s long-lasting,” she said. When asked about the notion that Bollywood is ‘dying’, the actor said, “I don’t think it’s possible. Films are a culture like a cricket. It can’t die…it can’t. People have their points of view, they have their opinions, but there is also a lot of love and appreciation that we get. I think we should just take it in our stride and just say ‘we tried’ and we move on.”
