The festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated on the Ashtami date of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month.
According to the beliefs of Hinduism, Lord Krishna was born on this day. Shri Krishna was born on the date of Ashtami in Rohini Nakshatra.
On this day Krishna’s birth anniversary is celebrated with great enthusiasm in Mathura and Vrindavan. Like Rakshabandhan this year, there is confusion regarding the date of Krishna Janmashtami.
People have not yet been able to know clearly whether Shri Krishna Janmashtami is on 18th August or 19th August.
When is Janmashtami?
Astrologers say that this year the Ashtami date of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada will start from 9.20 pm on 18th August and will last till 10.59 pm on the next day i.e. 19th August. Meanwhile, the festival of Krishna Janmashtami will be celebrated on Thursday, August 18.
On this day the devotees of Lord Krishna keep fast and go to the temple and worship him.

Abhijeet Muhurta: From 12:05 pm to 12:56 pm on August 18
Vriddhi Yoga: From 08:56 pm on 17th August to 08:41 pm on 18th August.
Dhruv Yoga: From 08:41 pm on 18th August to 08:59 pm on 19th August
Method of janmashtami Worship(Janmashtami 2022 Pujan Vidhi): On Shri Krishna Janmashtami, adorn Shri Krishna and apply tilak of Ashtagandha sandalwood, Akshat and Roli to him.
Makhan and Mishri : Both butter and sugar candy are dear to Shri Krishna. In such a situation, on the day of Janmashtami, offer both these things to Lord Krishna. Make sure to use basil leaves in this.
Coriander Panjiri- On the day of Janmashtami, Lord Krishna is offered coriander Panjiri.
For this, mix cashew, almond, sugar candy and ghee in coriander powder and offer it to Kanha.
Makhana Kheer- Shri Krishna loves Makhana Kheer. In such a situation, on Janmashtami, offer kheer containing makhana and dry fruits to Kanhaiya.
Panchamrit- The worship of Lord Krishna is considered incomplete without Panchamrit on Janmashtami. On this day Lord Krishna is anointed with Panchamrit and also distributed as Prasad.
Makhana Paag- Makhana Paag is prepared only on the occasion of Janmashtami. Offer it to Lord Krishna on this day.
Flour Panjiri- It is believed that Lord Krishna is very fond of Flour Panjiri, so Kanha must be offered both Coriander and Flour Panjiri.
