Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy poses for a Vogue Photoshoot Amid War, netizens react
Despite of ongoing war with Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his wife Olena Zelenska posed for a photo shoot for Vogue Magazine.
In one of the photos, Zelensky and his wife were seen sitting closer to each other, while in another photo, they posed holding hands.
Additionally, In another picture, Olena was seen posing with a broken military vehicle. In the fourth picture, Olena posed on the stairs of a building.
American fashion and lifestyle magazine, ‘Vogue’ described Ukrainian First Lady ‘Olena’ as a “Portrait of Bravery”. And, celebrity photographer Annie Leibovit clicked the Photographs.
However, Olena also shared these photographs on her official Instagram Account.
“For Vogue’s special digital cover story, Zelenska and her husband Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about life in wartime, their marriage, and shared history and dreams for Ukraine’s future. Tap the link in our bio for the full profile, which will also be featured in the October issue.” Vogue Magazine wrote in its Instagram Post.
The Magazine further wrote on Instagram, “In Ukraine, tens of thousands of women have been on the front lines, including in combat, and First Lady Olena Zelenska’s role has increasingly turned toward frontline diplomacy. She recently traveled to Washington, albeit on an unofficial, unannounced visit, and met with President Biden, first lady Dr. Jill Biden, and Secretary of State Antony Blinken. There, she also addressed Congress, telling a bipartisan group of lawmakers that she was speaking as a mother and daughter, not just a first lady. “I’m asking for something I would never want to ask for: I am asking for weapons—weapons that would not be used to wage a war on somebody else’s land but to protect one’s home and the right to wake up alive in that home,” she said that day.
This photoshoot gave a rise to division among netizens as a large number of netizens trolled the couple, while some Twitter users also praised them.
A Twitter user wrote, “When you elect an actor as your President, priorities are set even in times of war. Zelenskyy and his wife shoot for a feature in Vogue.”
Another one tweeted, “While we send Ukraine $60 billion in aid Zelenskyy is doing photoshoots for Vogue Magazine.
These people think we are nothing but a bunch of suckers.”
